Wulanchabu Xufeng Carbon Technology Co., Ltd.
The project of Ulanqab Xufeng Carbon Technology Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 80,000 tons of UHP graphite electrodes started to be built on September 1, 2017, with the overall design plan completed and the construction started on September 15, covering an area of 398 mu. The project was invested by Henan Xibao Metallurgy Materials Group Co., Ltd., Anshan Carbon Co., Ltd. and Nantong Yangzi Carbon Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of RMB 450 million and a total investment of RMB 1,925 million.
I. Location Advantages:
The project is located in Tianpishan Metallurgical & Chemical Industrial Park, Chahar Right Front Banner, Ulanqab. The combination of Bohai Bay Economic Zone and Hohhot-Baotou-Yinchuan Economic Zone is an important node for the development of Inner Mongolia. It has a convenient transportation, close to Tsining District where Ulanqab City Government is located, 40 kilometers from Ulanqab Tsining Airport, and 15 kilometers from Ulanqab Railway Station, with G110, G6 Expressway, G208, 208 Expressway, Beijing-Baotou Railway, Tsining-Erenhot Railway, Tsining-Tongliao Railway, Kalgan-Tsining Railway, G7 Expressway, Zhunxing Heavy Haul Expressway and Xingtuo Heavy Haul Expressway across the area, forming a transportation network extending in all directions, which greatly shortens the time and distance for customs clearance and sailing at Chahar Right Front Banner coupled with reticulate interactive country roads.
The project site has a suitable geographical location and a flat and open terrain, whose geological conditions are suitable for the construction of industrial projects. The land of the project belongs to industrial land.
II. Project Classification:
(I) Ultra-high power (UHP) graphite electrode.
(II) New carbon materials: mainly refer to anode materials, special graphite, isostatic graphite, molded graphite, CC composite materials, SIC composite materials, carbon fiber and superconducting graphite materials, which are widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, building materials, transportation (high-speed rail, automobile and aerospace) and other fields.
The company is a large-scale scientific and technological carbon enterprise integrating production, management and research & development, which is currently communicating with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Inner Mongolia University and Hunan University to establish an industry-university-research consortium and a research & development base of carbon technology. The company has a designed annual output of 80,000 tons of UHP graphite electrode and 20,000 tons of new carbon materials. According to the current market price, it has a sales revenue up to RMB 6 billion, with a profit tax of about RMB 800 million.
The project is to be completed in three phases: the first phase of the project has been ready for trial production in different processes since April 15, 2018, mainly including graphitization workshop, machining workshop, secondary calcination workshop, impregnation workshop, primary calcination workshop and corrugating workshop, with an annual output up to 30,000 tons; the second phase of the project is scheduled to be ready for production in October 2019, with an annual output of 60,000 tons; and the third phase of the project is scheduled to be ready for production in December 2021, with an annual output of 80,000 tons.
According to the requirements of national economic development, taking the production of high-end products with advanced technology and high added value as the goal, to formulate the optimal process route; to widely use new equipment, new materials, new processes and new technologies in the project construction, with lean six sigma thinking across the whole process of project construction and enterprise management. After the establishment of the enterprise, the overall level of graphite electrode production technology and equipment is enabled to be among the advanced ranks in the same industry in the country, and the equipment of some processes can be comparable to those of foreign countries. While building a large-size graphite electrode manufacturer with high-end products as the main part and medium-end as the auxiliary part, the company aims at the fine-structure graphite markets such as special carbon, anode materials, electric spark, continuous casting graphite, optical fiber and photovoltaics, as well as CC composite materials and other new graphite materials with advanced technologies, in order to build the enterprise into a modern scientific and technological carbon enterprise with first-class technology, first-class quality and first-class management, which integrates production, research & development and marketing and is supported by corporate culture with the “lean” ideology.
At the beginning of construction, the project followed the path of clean production and economic development keeping pace with the national environmental protection requirements, adopting a large number of modern advanced equipment, insisting on selecting mature tooling equipment on the basis of automation and mechanization, with dust removal equipment installed in each process to eliminate dust and smoke pollution, so as to ensure that all indexes met the environmental protection requirements.
This project is in line with the country’s industrial policy and economic development requirements, which is encouraged by the country. From landing to rapid progress, the project has always received the full support of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Party Committee and Government, Ulanqab Municipal Party Committee and Government, Chahar Right Front Banner Committee and Government and Tianpishan Administrative Committee.
The construction of this project can not only make positive contributions to the production of high-tech products and the development of new materials industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, but also contribute to the development of local economy, taxation and employment to a certain extent.
